Alexa Havins Teases Her Debut as GH’s Lulu!

Get ready for Lulu to finally wake up on General Hospital! Laura received the news she was waiting for — her daughter’s liver transplant was a success — and now the day has come for Alexa Havins to debut in the role! According to the latest print issue of TV Guide, the actress will make her first appearance on Monday, Nov. 18.
It was announced back in September that the All My Children alum would be taking over the role of much-missed Lulu Spencer. Teasing what’s ahead for the character, Havins told the outlet, “The writers have written some fun things” in store.
“She’s waking up from a four-year coma, so we’ve got a lot of twists and turns, and we hit the ground running,” she added.

ABC Daytime viewers will remember Havins from her role as AMC’s Babe Carey Chandler, which she played from 2003-’07. (She also made a special appearance in 2011 before the soap aired its final episode on the network.) During her years in Pine Valley, Havins received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress and found love with co-star Justin Bruening (Jaimie). Married since 2005, the couple shares three children.
Since exiting daytime, Havins starred on the primetime series Torchwood and The Astronaut Wives Club, and even appeared on her husband’s Netflix show, Sweet Magnolias. At the time, she revealed to TV Guide, she figured being invited to play his character’s ex would have been her last acting job. “I said to him, ‘Oh, this will wrap it up in a little bow. It’ll be sweet for the kids. We met on the first thing I did and [worked together] on the last thing I did.’”
Born in 1994, Luke and Laura’s daughter was played by several child actors until the character was aged in 2005 and Julie Berman was cast in the role. After Berman exited GH in 2013, Emme Rylan took over, playing Lulu up until she was injured in an explosion at The Floating Rib in December 2020 and slipped into a coma.
In one of her last conversations with best friend Maxie, Lulu confessed that she was still very much in love with her ex-husband, Dante. We’re sure once she wakes up, Lulu will be shocked to learn that, while she was comatose, not only had Dante built a life with Sam, but Sam died from a heart attack after saving her life!
