However, this conspiracy theory is reportedly false, and the ‘CNN’ report that started it all was found to be doctored. Reuters debunked the theory, stating that the screenshot itself was false and there were no such tunnels connecting to other homes, although a grotto by an underwater swimming tunnel was reportedly found. A CNN reporter mentioned,

That is a manipulated image and not something CNN reported.

According to People magazine, Diddy had actually listed his LA home for sale before his arrest, a few months after federal authorities reportedly raided his properties. The rapper listed the property at close to $62 million.

Though Diddy’s rumored underground tunnel to the Playboy Mansion was debunked, it is not the first time a tunnel linked to a celebrity and the Mansion has made the news. An article in Playboy magazine revealed that one of the magazine staff found archival images of a tunnel construction project under the mansion that led to the homes of various celebrities.

According to Vanity Fair, these tunnels were built in the ‘70s and led to the homes of prominent actors like Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Kirk Douglas, and James Caan. When the staff went to the Mansion, he reportedly found many photos and blueprints for the tunnels. However, he reportedly never found the tunnels or any proof of their existence.

The magazine article is likely to be a prank too, as it was reportedly published on April 1, according to People magazine. The magazine article reportedly also included a conclusion where the writer asked if anyone (or their dads) had used the tunnels in the ‘70s and ‘80s to reach out to them. The tunnels were reportedly closed in 1989.
